Spend four days travelling through Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park, moving from one wilderness hut to the next on backcountry skis.

Follow the fells and forests of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park on skis, travelling from one wilderness hut to the next.
The journey
Spend eight days travelling through the winter landscapes of Finnish Lapland, with four days taking you deep into the wilderness on a hut-to-hut ski journey through Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park. You'll cross silent forests, frozen lakes and wide-open fells, with nothing but snow and wilderness stretching around you. As darkness falls, the pace slows down. A fire warms the hut, dinner is shared around the table, and outside, the Arctic night settles over the landscape. Far from roads and lights, you may even find the Northern Lights waiting above you.

Good fit
This is a proper backcountry adventure, with several days spent skiing through remote winter terrain and staying in wilderness huts. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable on skis and ready for long days outside.
This trip probably isn’t the right fit if you’re completely new to skiing, prefer a hotel-based holiday, or are looking for a relaxed week with lots of different activities.

We start with a day on skis, exploring the snowy forests and fells around the chalet and getting used to travelling on backcountry skis. It's a chance to settle into the rhythm before heading into the wilderness. In the afternoon, we return to the chalet to prepare for the expedition, checking our gear, packing our bags and getting everything ready for the days ahead.
For four days, we'll leave the roads behind and ski deep into the winter wilderness of Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park. The landscape changes with every day: silent birch forests, frozen lakes and wide-open fells covered in snow. There is nowhere to rush to, so we'll take our time, follow the conditions and let the days unfold naturally. At the end of each day, we'll reach a remote wilderness hut, light the fire and settle in as darkness falls outside. A warm meal, dry clothes and a few quiet hours around the fire are all we need. And on a clear night, the Northern Lights may be waiting above us.
Back at the chalet, there's time to slow down after the expedition. Take the morning to rest, explore the area or simply enjoy a quiet day before visiting SnowVillage in the afternoon, where snow and ice are transformed into an ever-changing world of sculptures and rooms.
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to Lapland. Your guide will take you back to the airport for your flight home.
The itinerary and order of activities may be adjusted based on weather and logistics to ensure an optimal and safe experience.
