Join our snowshoeing tour in Ylläs and discover the quieter side of Lapland. From the village of Äkäslompolo, we head into Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, away from the busy trails. This guided experience takes you towards Kesänki Fell, with great views over the Ylläs area. Warm up by the fire
About halfway through, we stop at a traditional forest kota. We light a fire, grill local sausages and enjoy hot drinks in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. This is a moment to slow down and simply enjoy being out here.

Toward Kesänki summit
After the break we continue higher up the fell toward the summit of Kesänki (weather permitting). The climb is gentle and steady, with views opening over surrounding fells and frozen lakes. Up there you may also see trees completely covered in snow, sometimes called tykky trees, a unique feature of Lapland winters.

Soft snow return
The way down is often the highlight. Instead of staying on a packed trail, we walk through soft, untouched snow between the trees. This part feels more playful and free. Step by step you make your own path through silence and open space, and return with a real feeling of what Lapland is all about.
