Ski through snowy forests and frozen landscapes before reaching Nammalakuru, where a remote wilderness hut becomes home for two nights. With a full day to explore your surroundings, there's no need to rush on. Head out on skis, discover the fells on snowshoes or stay close to the hut and enjoy the warmth of the fire. Program flow
The days below show the shape of the journey. Weather and snow conditions still guide the exact line on the ground.
Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your chalet. Settle in, enjoy dinner and start getting a feel for life in Lapland.
We start with a day on skis, exploring the snowy forests and open terrain around Kukastunturi. We'll leave the prepared tracks behind and spend the day getting comfortable travelling on backcountry skis, learning to read the terrain and finding our way through the winter landscape. Along the way, we'll stop at a traditional kota for a warm meal and some time by the fire before skiing back to the chalet.

This trip probably isn’t the right fit if you’re completely new to skiing, prefer a hotel-based holiday, or are looking for a structured week with a fixed schedule and little time outdoors.

Today starts with a snowshoe hike up Kesänki Fell, giving us a different way to experience the winter landscape before the expedition begins. In the afternoon, we'll return to the chalet to prepare our equipment, pack the pulkas and get everything ready for the days ahead.
For the next three days, we'll leave the roads behind and ski deep into the wilderness around Nammalakuru. The route takes us through the wilderness of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park until we reach the remote wilderness hut where we'll spend two nights. With a full day to explore the area around the hut, you can choose your own pace: head out on skis, explore on snowshoes or simply stay at the hut, relax by the fire and enjoy the silence. The day will follow the weather, the snow and what the group feels like doing. In the evenings, we'll light the fire, cook together and settle into the warmth of the hut as darkness falls outside. And if the skies are clear, the Northern Lights may appear above us.
Back at the chalet, there's time to slow down after the expedition. Take the morning to rest, explore the area or simply enjoy a quiet day before visiting SnowVillage in the afternoon, where snow and ice are transformed into an ever-changing world of sculptures and rooms.
After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye to Lapland. Your guide will take you back to the airport for your flight home.
The itinerary and order of activities may be adjusted based on weather and logistics to ensure an optimal and safe experience.
